Divers on the Net
When the "Form function" radio button is set to "search the database",
the form is used to specify display selection options.
- A blank form will display all available entries.
Any data entered on the form will limit the display
of entries to those that match "all" of the data entered on the form.
- The password field is not used when selecting entries for display.
- Selection data entered in the "name", "email", "home page", or
"additonal info" boxes is case insensitive.
- Selection data entered in the "email" or "home page" boxes should not contain
blanks. Any data entered after a blank will be ignored.
Complete email or home page addresses are not needed.
(Example: If you put "aol.com" in the "email" box, you will get back all entries with email at
America On-Line.)
- Selection data entered in the "name" or "additonal info" boxes may contain
as many complete or partial words as you wish.
(Example: If you put "cayman" and "roatan" in the "additonal info" box, you will get back all
entries that contain both "cayman" and "roatan".)
- To see just your own entry, fill in your email address and leave the rest of the form blank.
- After you have specified you selection options, click on the
"Execute form" button.
- The "Erase form" button will blank out the form
and set the "Form function" radio button to "select entries for display".
The selected entries are displayed in chronological order. Most web browsers have
a "find" feature, button, or option that can be used to search the contents of displayed entries.
I have heard that some web browsers do not handle the drop down selection boxes correctly.
This is not the fault of the form. If you have this problem, please report it to the software
support group for your web browser. Unreported bugs will never get fixed.
If you want to change your entry after you have added it, use the form to delete your
existing entry, then create a new entry. If you have trouble deleting your entry, email me
and I will delete it for you.
