In January, Ehsan Samei was promoted to Professor of Radiology, and DAI Labs became Carl E. Ravin Advanced Imaging Laboratories (RAI Labs), in order to honor former Duke Radiology Chair Carl E. Ravin.  Carl has retired as chair and is now President of the Private Diagnostic Clinic.  In February, Tuania Wright, Staff Assistant, and Karen Wilson, Lab Manager, joined RAI Labs to help with administrative and grant-related tasks.  In April, RAI Labs, under the direction of Jim Dobbins and Joseph Lo, successfully hosted a conference at Duke University on Tomosynthesis.  In May, Anuj Kapadia and Lynne Hurwitz joined the faculty at RAI Labs.  Paul Segars received a 7 percentile score on his recent NIH R01 grant submission on modeling breast images and Anuj Kapadia's book Accuracy and Dose in Neutron Stimulated Emission Computed Tomography: Simulations in GEANT4 is now available on Amazon.com.  In July, Joseph Lo was promoted to Associate Professor of Radiology, and we bid farewell to Shawn Mendonca, Research Technician, who is leaving to pursue an MD at Michigan State University.

10/15/2009: Ehsan Samei was commended for distinguished service as associate editor of Medical Physics by the editorial board.
7/1/2009: Joseph Lo was promoted to Associate Professor of Radiology.
6/29/2009: Research Technician Shawn Mendonca left RAI Labs to pursue an MD at Michigan State.
6/25/2009: Anuj Kapadia's book, Accuracy and Dose in Neutron Stimulated Emission Computed Tomography, became available at Amazon.com.
5/8/2009: Lynne Hurwitz joined RAI Labs Faculty.
5/2/2009: Anuj Kapadia became a core faculty member; he was promoted to Assistant Professor of Radiology.
5/2/2009: The Tomosynthesis Symposium Conference was successfully concluded by James Dobbins and Joseph Lo.
1/24/2009: DAI Labs announced its new name: Carl E. Ravin Advanced Imaging Laboratories (RAI Labs)
1/5/2009: Ehsan Samei was promoted to Professor of Radiology.
